Sam’s yellow daal

  • 1 cup daal
  • 1 tsp basaar
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2.5 cups of water
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree

Tadka:

  • oil/butter
  • 1 tsp whole cumin
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • coriander
  • 2 x green chilli
  • 1/2 onion
  1. Boil daal with salt, onion, basaar, tomato and tomato puree on medium heat until the daal is cooked
  2. Cook the tadka until fragrant and add to daal
